If Luke Jatem can make money from postcards why can't the post office.
Google adsense provided a link on scams-xposed promising to make me rich with post cards. When I started scams-xposed I warned everyone (both of you) that adsense might do that, and cautioned that just because there is a link here doesn't mean I endorse it.. So I had to take a look. I needed something to write about anyway and this had every indication there was some good subject material waiting for me.
Instead of a bunch of text promising to make us rich he has a video. It features him driving a car and talking to the video camera at the same time. That can't be safe can it?
Scam checklist item #1 - He promises $10,000 a week or $20,000 a month. If it sounds too good to be true it is!
- video continues -
Scam checklist item #2 - Simple 8 Step program that anyone can be taught to do. Then why are more people not doing it? This is the category of too easy. Something must be wrong.
Scam checklist item #3 - Trust me I went from nothing to riches. This is the begging for trust indicator. If he really started from $0.00 how did he pay for postage? Which cam first the chicken postcard or the egg stamp?
-- and we are not even a minute into the video --
-- Video continues inside now. ( Damn! I was waiting for the accident.) ---
Scam checklist item #4 - Still begging for trust the video shows a balance sheet from one of his followers. They made $20,000 in a month. Not bad. Is that sales or profit? No indication of what the balance sheet looked like the month before they started using postcards, and no indication of the marketing money they spent. For all we know he may have started to lose customers because he annoyed them with junk postcards. Ah hell for all we know that balance sheet was fabricated in Excel.
Scam checklist item #5 - Still begging for trust another convert shows us his tax returns for the last 3 years. Whoa !!! I knew there was a reason I held on to old version of turbo tax. I too can print out a tax return that shows anything I want it too. There is no evidence provided that these are his real tax returns.
-- video has no option to fast forward --
Scam checklist item #6 - Taking forever to get to the point. How much will it cost me and what am I buying? I will just guess.
I am going to pay way too much for this free offer.
I bet the system involves printing postcards advertising your product and putting them in the mail.
Now what are the other 6 steps? Lick stamp, put bright green sticker on it, and 4 more. It doesn't matter this is a scam. You do not need to pay for his advice, or buy his training program. My 3 year old can lick stamps.
The final evidence that this is a scam - The training course for his simple 8 step system is on 10 audio CD's. WHAT!!! Thats over 10 hours to learn 8 "simple" steps. How long is the description of stamp licking?
Don't be scammed. Be smart.
UPDATE: I just checked with the Better Business Bureau. This important information is from their web page. The promoter may claim that it is all "legitimate" or "approved by the Post Office." It's not! Postal Inspectors investigate and prosecute people involved in these promotions and you could find yourself the subject of criminal action for mail fraud.
